I thought this might be fun - I LOVE to read and am interested to find out the types of readers there are in the area.

What types of books interest you and why?

I tend to read political biographies / autobiographies.  I wish I had more time to read more frequently... I have about ten books on my "to read" list, one of which I have started a zillion times, Can't Wait to Get to Heaven by Fannie Flagg, who also wrote Fried Green Tomatoes.

I always have several going at a time. Self-help, to fiction, love, biographies etc. I am reading Tribes-Seth Godin Awesome about leadership, love it. The Wednesday Letters-Jason F Wright love story with a twist of a couple married over 35yrs. Also read recently Glass Castles great book biography Memoir great & funny but sad situations about a disfunctional famiy (my family put the fun in that word). I love books have my own library. Also great book is The Outliners!!

LOVE to read- I also loved Glass castle.
read Jesus Land, just finished 1,000 white women. one of my faves.  also The Red tent.
I need a great one now to read.

I'm currently reading The Middle Place by Kelly Corrigan.  It is the most amazing autobiography about people who are living in that "middle" season of life.  I'll likely be buying it as a birthday gift for all my girlfriends... it's that good!

I loved the Bookseller of Kabul...true story.  Also, Infidel.  Fiction based on non-fiction is one of my favorites...The b****** of Istanbul and The Other Boleyn Girl are both wonderful. Finally, one of the most moving books I have ever read is Same Kind of Different as Me by Ron Hall and Denver Moore. (true story)

I read primarily fiction and thrillers. I did read the Glass Castle and it was good. Love Same Kind of Different as Me, another good memoir. Just read Come Back a mother-daughter memoir...very scary and compelling.

Does anyone read Romance novels?  I know typically those aren't talked about b/c they are hush-hush, but thought I would ask.  I enjoy romance novels that are funny.  Anyone?
