I wasn't sure if this was the place to post this. However, some people look for some qualities and traits in certain Dr's that others might not care for or want. However, I thought I would share my experience. I wanted to mention one of the most important things that I see for people moving into Southlake is finding a OB/GYN - seems everyone is pregnant! Myself included when we first moved here. I was really nervous since my prior pregnancy had serious complications and my Dr could have been more conservative and cautious. It was important to me to find a Dr. that was going to really listen and take her time with my prenatal care. Also, she sees you personally each visit and delivers all her own babies. What a plus!! After several refferals and meeting with Dr. Flowers I knew she was the one for me. By her extra caution my baby was delivered safely a month early. This would not have been caught in my prior pregnancy. Almost two years later several of friends of mine that also moved to Southlake also delivered with Dr. Flowers and were equally as pleased. I am not trying to push my opinion on anyone but I would have died for a website full of other moms opinions when I first moved it!!! I would be so happy to answer any other questions if anyone is interested!

thank you for posting that useful information! i just moved to Southlake and this is exactly the kind of information that I'm looking for! Do you mind me asking for the full name of the OBGYN that you recommend? Thanks!
100% agree!!!! I used Dr. Flowers for the same reasons (complications with delivery of my first) and delivered my second - best delivery experience I could have ever asked for!! I sent her a thank you note and said I was "looking forward to #3!" I''m sure she thought I was crazy. :) I would recommend her to anyone - best OBGYN ever.

I am about 5 1/2 months right now and have been using Women's Integrated over by Baylor Medical. My doctor is Dr. Wendy Kendrick. She has been an excellent doctor, but I can tell you that the younger sonographer is very get you in and get you out. Since this is my first, I was definitely disappointed at how little time I got to see! How has your experience with Dr. Flowers been for the Sonograms and such?

Thank you so much for the name of the OBGYN. I'm definitely going to check her out! Anyone have a recommendation for a good pediatrician? Someone that's patient with questions and develops a good rapport with the child is preferred. By the way, this is such a useful website to be able to correspond with other Southlake moms - what a great idea!

The sonographer at Dr. Flowers office is Lisa and she is GREAT!! She is very patient, very informative and always trys to get you a good shots. I usually went between Lisa and Dr. Graham/Paynes office - one week on and one week off alternating. Even though Lisa saw me so often each time was like the first as I always left with pictures and full well knowing everything there was to know. I liked her because she is a mom as well and can totally understand what we are going through being pregnant. And same goes for Dr. Flowers on that note!!
I am not bashing WIH at all...but I know several people that had switched from there to Dr. Flowers. Their main issue was not even seeing the OB but a nurse. And one person who was high risk and having serious issues still hadn't met the Dr. half way through! I also know people who are very happy there as well. Everyone is always going to have good and bad experiences. But my advice is if you are not happy or comfortable - switch now.
There is also a sonographer place in Southlake called Windows in the Womb? I am pretty certain that is it...it is a place that does all the 3-D shots and videos. I went to it and it was pretty neat!!

My family uses Southlake Family Medicine. They are fine. I would leave it at that. We see Dr. Benzick and he is also a very good Dr. but we never get to see him when we are sick because he is always booked due to high demand. I do apprerciate the fact that other peds can usually see your child. We also used to see Dr. Dickey in Grapevine and while I liked her - the office staff was rude and the wait was on average an hour each visit. And the peds would only see their own patients which is ridiculous to ask a mother to wait a day to be seen with an extremely sick child.
Our old pediatricians office out of state was by far the best we ever had. They had walk in sick hours on Saturday mornings along with appointments with Dr's. Call in's on Sundays. After hours appointments up until 8pm. You would ALWAYS been seen if your child was sick. Does anyone know of any practice in Southlake that doesn't keep 8-5pm hours??? If there is I would like to know about it. I am starting to wonder if this is a conspiracy with the Band-Aid centers.
I know you asked for a ped rec. This is has been my experience so far. Dr. Benzick only accepts new patients as newborns or within the first 60days of life....you will then be able to bring your children as well. I do recommend him as a Dr, I only wish they had more suitable office hours for pediatrics..

Thanks for the response! I will definitely keep that in mind. So far, I have seen my doctor everytime - thank goodness... I would NOT be comfortable just seeing a nurse or nurse prac. Not only do you not get the personal attention you deserve, you are still paying the premium on the doctor! I don't have a problem with Nurse Practitioner's, but still if you are paying for an M.D., you should see an M.D.
Thanks again,

We see Dr. Erica Zwernemann at Southlake Family Medicine and love her! If the kids need to get in and she is out/booked we have seen the other peds there and have bee happy with all of them. Good luck!

Just wanted to let posters know that in checking to see if Dr. Flowers had any openings, she has a 1 year waiting list for new patients. Dr. Carrie Morris is another Dr. at the same practise and is accepting new patients. She is very nice and is a younger doctor.
